Seven Billion Dreams, One Planet, Consume with Care

Staying close to nature demands a degree of commitment – a responsibility of providing others a platform to stay close to nature. As deforestation brutally gulps down the coming generations’ rights on earth and resources, all what we can do is to create a similar ecosystem our ancestors preserved for us. With such a wide view, ASAP Kottayam is joining hands with Social Forestry division (Kerala Forest & Wildlife Department) in a project (Pachakuda) of planting as much trees in ASAP and non-ASAP institutions and conducting various awareness programmes. Worked out online, the strategy puts forward, a much innovative and novel way of implementation where the institutions can find, choose and register project of their interest online.

WHAT? Trees online?
Logging onto the Green portal means a total centralization of our green initiatives. Right from the selection of

packages, the project gets converged with the trends of new media as ‘selfie challenge’,’ whatsapp a slogan’ and so on. Several competitions like collage making are initiated among the students to build a larger greener consensus. The outputs being collected and evaluated online, our project demands minimum time, transportation and energy.

 Unconventional approach
Conventionally, such a massive eco project with multi institutional involvement would have been so hideous to manage, implement and to succeed. Lots of paper work, layers of implementation strategies and strict planning would have made the project lagging. But the things being done online, physical activity restricts to the essential inputs. Long formalities clear our way. Thus, minimum input and maximum output can be made sure of.
Thus with an ambitious project for reviving the greenery takes its first step on a much technologically equipped platform. New media emerges as a collective public voice, to protect, preserve and prepare a better eco system for the coming generations.

What Next?

Step 1: Browse through the 'Green Portal' and know about the various activities and projects which can be implemented in your institution. The concerned authority of the institution can take the decision.
